Forseti 6 years old at Landsmót 2002:

On the night of the 30th of June 1996, many people in Iceland were busy counting the votes that had been cast at the presidential election the day before. While people in Iceland were waiting for the results, a bay stallion foal was born at Vorsabær II. We immediately realized that a winner had seen the light of day and decided to name him Forseti, meaning President.

It was never a question of whether we should raise him as a stallion; ever since he was a foal, he has been beautiful with excellent movements. Björn started him under saddle at the beginning of the year 2000, and in April, he sent Forseti to Þórður Þorgeirsson, a well-known horse trainer, to be trained further. All went well, so Forseti could be evaluated this same year at 4 years old and received 8,00 for conformation, 8,08 for riding abilities, and 8,05 as a total score, qualifying for Landsmót later that year. At Landsmót, he was evaluated higher, receiving 8,12 as a total score.

When Forseti turned six, he was shown again at a breeding show in Reykjavik, where he ended up in first place with a total score of 8,23. Having achieved that, Forseti and Þórður appeared again at Landsmót 2002, which took place at Vindheimamelar in the north of Iceland, the very same place where Gassi frá Vorsabæ II came second in the group of six-years-old and older stallions in the year 1990. Forseti accomplished the same, being awarded second place with scores of 8,39 for conformation, 8,71 for riding abilities, and 8,58 for total score.

It was a unique judgment that made Forseti frá Vorsabæ II the highest-judged 6-year-old stallion in the world that same year. At the same time, he became the highest-judged offspring of Hrafn 802 frá Holtsmúla worldwide.

Many offspring of Forseti have been shown at breeding evaluations, and the mare Gleði frá Hólaborg was judged the highest, with a total score of 8,62!

It is also remarkable how many of Forseti‘s offspring have participated in competitions and performed very well—for example, Straumur frá Seljabrekku, the World champion in T2.
