1. General

These Terms & Conditions govern all accommodation and experiences operated by Björn Jónsson, located at Vorsabær 2, 804 Selfoss, Iceland, regardless of whether bookings are made through the company website, booking systems, or third-party platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Bókun, Viator, Tripadvisor, or other online travel agencies.

By completing a booking and/or making payment, the guest confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions in full.

3. Bookings and Payment

  • All bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking.

  • All prices are stated in Icelandic Krona (ISK) and include VAT, unless otherwise stated.

  • Accepted payment methods include card payments or bank transfer by prior agreement.

4. Accommodation Rules

  • Maximum occupancy: 7 guests

  • Check-in: after 4:00 PM

  • Check-out: before 11:00 AM

  • Smoking: not permitted

  • Parties or events: not permitted

  • Children: allowed

  • Accessibility: no specific accessibility features

  • Accommodation is hosted by the owners or their representatives.

Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property or contents during their stay.

5. Experiences and Activities

5.1 General

  • Participation in all activities is at the guest’s own risk.

  • Guests must be in good physical health and capable of participating safely.

  • Björn Jónsson reserves the right to refuse participation if a guest’s condition, behavior, or ability is deemed unsafe.

5.2 Horseback Riding

  • Minimum age requirements:

    • 1-hour ride: 6 years

    • 2-hour ride: 9 years

    • 3-hour ride: 9 years

    • Full-day ride: 13 years

    • Riding hall ride: 2 years

  • Maximum rider weight: 110 kg (240 lbs)

  • Safety equipment: helmets are provided and mandatory.

  • Activities are weather- and condition-dependent. Final safety decisions rest with Björn Jónsson.

5.3 Farm Visits

  • No minimum age.

  • Guests must follow staff instructions at all times.

6. Liability and Insurance

6.1 Assumption of Risk

Horseback riding, farm visits, and outdoor activities involve inherent risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, falls, unpredictable animal behavior, uneven terrain, weather conditions, and actions of other participants.

By participating in any activity at Vorsabær 2, guests acknowledge that they understand these risks and voluntarily accept them.

6.2 Guest Responsibility

Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically and medically fit to participate. Any relevant medical conditions, injuries, mobility limitations, or pregnancy must be disclosed prior to participation.

Guests must comply with all safety instructions provided by staff at all times. Failure to follow instructions or behavior deemed unsafe may result in removal from the activity without refund.

Helmets are mandatory during horseback riding and must be worn at all times while mounted.

6.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Icelandic law, Björn Jónsson and Vorsabær 2 shall not be liable for injury, loss, damage, delay, or expense arising from participation in activities or stays at the farm, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Guests are responsible for any damage they cause to property, equipment, or animals during their visit.

6.4 Travel Insurance

Guests are strongly advised to carry valid travel and medical insurance covering accidents, medical treatment, cancellation, and personal liability.

7. Force Majeure

Björn Jónsson is not responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Active weather alerts

  • Natural disasters

  • Road closures

  • Government restrictions or official directives

8. Guest Conduct

Björn Jónsson reserves the right to remove guests from the premises or terminate participation in activities without refund if behavior is unsafe, abusive, or violates house rules or staff instructions.

9. Privacy

Personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy of Björn Jónsson.

Guest contact details may be used for booking-related communication and email marketing in compliance with applicable law.

10. Acceptance of Terms

Acceptance of these Terms & Conditions occurs upon booking and payment.

No physical signature is required.
