About Us
TEXT
Vorsabær 2 is a family-operated company where Björn and Stefanía began farming in 1985. Dating back 5 generations, the farm has been in our family since the year 1840.
Björn and Stefanía started farming in 1985 and have been breeding horses since then. Apart from their 100 horses, they keep 50 sheep, 20 goats, a few chickens, a cat, and a friendly dog who greets every visitor.
We provide horseback riding trips for everyone and farm visits - we also offer accommodation in the Holiday House for 7 people.
Our three children — Margrét, Jón Emil, and Sigurbjörg Bára — grew up here on the farm, surrounded by all kinds of animals and nature.
Björn and Stefanía studied at the Agricultural College at Hvanneyri. Björn is also a member of the Icelandic Horse-Trainer-Association (FT). Both have been participating in riding courses held by known riding instructors and competing.
In 2008, a new sheep barn and a riding hall of 16x42m were built at Vorsabær 2. One year later, a new horse stable for 32 horses was built. Apart from all these new buildings, there is a 250 m oval track outside the stable.
Over the years, many young people from foreign countries have worked at Vorsabær 2. At the same time, they have improved their skills with horses and gained a lot of experience.
Our goal is to meet every customer's needs as best we can through personal service.
