Location
VORSABÆR II
This private horseback riding experience at Vorsabær II begins at our Icelandic horse breeding farm in South Iceland. After meeting your guide and preparing in the riding hall, horses are carefully selected based on rider experience and confidence before setting out into the countryside.
With several hours in the saddle, the route extends further across farmland and natural terrain between Selfoss and Flúðir. The longer format allows riders to settle into a steady rhythm, experience sustained stretches of tölt, and explore varied landscapes shaped by daily farm life rather than tourism infrastructure.
Tour Description
The private day tour is intended for riders with solid previous experience who are comfortable riding independently for extended periods. The longer duration offers a more immersive riding experience, with time to cover greater distances and appreciate the open countryside at a confident pace.
During the ride, there is a planned break to rest both horses and riders. Depending on conditions and the group’s experience level, riders may have the opportunity to change horses, a traditional part of longer Icelandic riding routes that allows for a fresh and responsive mount.
As a family-run breeding farm, Vorsabær II offers riding in an authentic agricultural landscape, where daily farm activities continue alongside guest experiences.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time.

Why Ride at Vorsabær II
Vorsabær II is a working Icelandic horse breeding farm in South Iceland, not a high-volume riding operation. Horses are bred, raised, and trained on the farm, and riding experiences take place alongside daily farm life rather than in a commercial riding center.
