Vorsabær II - Family Farm
in South Iceland
Visit our working horse breeding farm - ride our Icelandic horses, meet our animals, and stay in countryside accommodation.
Horse Breeding Farm
Vorsabær II is a family-run Icelandic horse breeding farm in South Iceland. Björn and Stefanía began farming here in 1985, and the farm has been in the same family since 1840.
We breed, raise, train, and sell Icelandic horses, with around 100 horses on the farm. Guests can also experience the farm through riding tours, farm visits, and countryside accommodation.
Horses bred at Vorsabær II have competed at the World Championships. We bred the Nordic Champion in 4-Gait in 2024, along with Icelandic Champions, and Vorsabær II was nominated as one of Iceland’s top competition horse breeding farms in 2024. Our stallion Hreyfill frá Vorsabæ II received an honorary prize for offspring in 2025.
Riding Tours
Choose from small-group tours, private tours, or a short introductory ride in the riding hall.

During your visit, you can meet the Icelandic horses that are bred and raised at Vorsabær II, along with other farm animals on the property. This is a chance to experience the setting, animals, and atmosphere of an authentic working farm in a calm and personal way.
Accommodation
Stay in our countryside Holiday House on the farm, with space for up to 7 guests and easy access to South Iceland highlights.
Set in peaceful rural surroundings, the house offers a comfortable base for guests who want to experience South Iceland at a calmer pace. It includes a fully equipped kitchen, private garden and terrace, and open views toward the surrounding landscape and mountains. In season, the setting is also ideal for viewing the Northern Lights.
The Holiday House works well for families, couples traveling together, or small groups looking for a more private countryside stay. Guests can also combine their stay with riding tours or a farm visit at Vorsabær II.
